As your photographer, my ultimate goal is to draw out your story, your personality, your individuality and true emotion. I am not a traditional studio photographer, but rather choose to take a more photojournalistic approach to children and family portraiture, capturing you in the moment - laughing, loving and interacting just as you do every day. I prefer to stand back and capture life as it happens. A session with me is never rushed, never uncomfortable, never about seeking a "cheese-face" grin. What you will get from a session with me is honest emotion - the real you. Real life. Pure Joy!

Emily and Mike will be wed this Fall and I was honored to get to capture some images of them in this exciting time of their lives, as they make plans and prepare to become partners in marriage. I am so looking forward to the wedding day! For now, enjoy you’re little sneak peek from last night’s engagement session!
Jon and Nicole’s wedding day was a perfectly temperate, 75 degree day, with a light breeze, puffy white clouds and blue skies. There must have been magic in the air, because the rest of the day turned out to be just as delightful! From the handcrafted centerpieces, bouquets, and cake, to the kids’ craft table, do-it yourself photo booth complete with silly hats and mustache’s on a stick, the day was quirky, fun and original. I was honored to get to document their special day for them at Cornelius Pass Roadhouse Imbrie Hall in Hillsboro. Here are just a few of my favorites so far!

Marjorie and Scott were wed on the hottest day of the summer on some gorgeous property out in Mulino, Oregon surrounded by loved ones. I was touched to be able to witness the sincerity and palpable love these two have for one another and for their collective family and friends. It was an amazing day…so amazing in fact, I barely noticed the 100+ degree temps! Best wishes to the bride and groom as they continue their journey together as husband and wife!

This little guys is one of my “regulars”. I get the pleasure of seeing his precious face every three months. I am always amazed at how quickly a little one grows, especially when I don’t see them for three months at a time! Little man surprised his parents by sitting up for a long stretch on his own at our session….something he had yet to do at home. I’m guessing he’ll be a pro at it in a few more weeks! I can’t wait to see what changes are in store for our next meeting! For now, here’s Mr. M in all his smiling glory. Happy 6 months Mr. M!

Miss M is getting ready to enter the last year of high school….a time of change, excitement, and flourishing independence! Best of luck to her and to all of the class of 2011 high school seniors for a wonderful senior year and in all future endeavors!
These two stunning young ladies were so fun to photograph. We waited for the perfect light out in the field near the Portland Airport, passing the time in front of the Aloft Hotel in Cascade Station. The light was magical! See for yourself!

I have had the honor of photographing this little spitfire since before she was born! Her beautiful momma is featured on my website in the maternity section and little miss is the smiling newborn featured in my babies gallery. Now she’s one and such an expressive little person! She has a new little “look” that she likes to give…one that says “what the heck?” It cracked me up over and over again. Mom says it’s a new look, but I think it’s a glimpse into the fun that’s in store when Miss B hits the teen years! HAHA! I enjoyed myself so much and I look forward to the next time!

This sweet family is about to welcome a new little boy! We spent a little time in Battle Ground out in the clover field capturing some final moments of expectation for them. At 8.5 months, it won’t be long now until we get to see a new little newborn on the blog as well! Stay tuned!

Her daddy is about to be deployed to the Middle East for a while. Their connection is a deep one. The separation will be difficult, I’m sure. They wanted some family photos done prior to him leaving so we went out to Fort Vancouver to capture them together, hugging, smiling, laughing and being a family. It was a wonderful morning and an honor to be able to capture these memories for them!

Erin and Andrew’s Rhodendendron Garden wedding was full of little personal touches: the hearts with the bride and grooms initials on the soles of the bride’s shoes, the fresh flowers in the brides hair that smelled so sweet, the 20’s movie star syle dress and the glamourous hotel room at the Nine’s Hotel, the pink tandem bicycle, the dancing down the aisle to the music of Justin Timberlake’s My Love and the surprise Thriller dance at the reception by the entire wedding party. It was such a well choreographed event that it kept guests entranced and entertained well into the night. Thanks again to Jenifer of Jenifer Johnston Photography for having me along to shoot this event! Congratulations to Erin and Andrew and may your marriage be as happy and fun filled as your wedding was!
